The author was a long-standing friend of Eric "Winkle" Brown and has based this "warts and allbiography on his personal archive as well as public records. There is full coverage of his active wartime service in the Battle of the Atlantic and his later career as a test pilot. He made more deck landings on carriers than any pilot before or since.
