Thomas Spry, Thomas Duke, William Meeten and Thomas Trevett, accused of forcibly and illegally detaining William Souter and John Morley of Storrington. (2 copies and draft) - ref. - date: 1805 Spry and Duke were members of a pressgang based at Littlehampton, the other two were said to be notorious smugglers, and the pressing to have been set up because Souter stole some tubs of spirits from James Searle of Cootham Common, the master smuggler. |
