The author's father served on the cruiser and had a photographic collection of her service, which is extensively used. Commissioned in 1940 she was involved in the Bismarck chase, the Vaagso Raid, Russian convoys, and the Pedestal convoy, in which she was damaged. After refit she joined the Eastern Fleet and served until May 1945. Her service up to scrapping in 1962 is also recorded. |
